November: The View from Here

"I saw in their eyes something I was to see over and over in every part of the nation — a burning desire to go, to move, to get under way, anyplace, away from here. They spoke quietly of how they wanted to go someday, to move about, free and unanchored, not toward something but away from something."
~ Travels With Charley In Search Of America, John Steinbeck

Last week, we hitched up our wagon and pulled out of our tiny prairie village for the last time. Home is what you make of it, and for the past 4.5 years, this sleepy little hamlet was exactly what we needed. It bestowed us with neighbours who became friends, who ultimately became family. It harboured our road-weary selves in peace and comfort; and taught us more about resiliency than I ever thought possible.

But alas, the time has come.
And so, we're off.
The hardest parts are over,
until,
the next hardest parts. ha.

So let's get this show on the road, quite literally. We're making our way south to Texas a little earlier than usual; with stops along the way to visit friends, play some shows and take some time to adjust to our new digs (all 15-feet of it, lol).

As a wise man once sang, "the life I love is making music with my friends, I can't wait to get on the road again."

Until next month,
Amy and Brad
(and Birdie & Margo)
